Eliminating Moisture-Related Porosity
Moisture porosity occurs when water vapor decomposes into hydrogen during welding, creating gas pockets in the solidifying weld. Prevention requires dry storage and preheating when necessary.
Moisture Control
- Store materials properly. Keep base metals and consumables in dry conditions.
- Preheat if needed. Drive out moisture with 100-150°C preheat on thick or contaminated materials.
Solution
CORGON® Series
Why dry conditions matter: Quality gases like CORGON require dry base materials to perform effectively - moisture undermines all other quality measures.
