Eliminating Moisture-Related Porosity

Moisture porosity occurs when water vapor decomposes into hydrogen during welding, creating gas pockets in the solidifying weld. Prevention requires dry storage and preheating when necessary.

Moisture Control

  1. Store materials properly. Keep base metals and consumables in dry conditions.
  2. Preheat if needed. Drive out moisture with 100-150°C preheat on thick or contaminated materials.
Solution

CORGON® Series

Why dry conditions matter: Quality gases like CORGON require dry base materials to perform effectively - moisture undermines all other quality measures.
